Could you introduce yourself ?
I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. My grandfather loved to take pictures and collected cameras as a hobby. He gave me an old Nikon when I was about 10 years old and I enrolled in a black and white photo class. I loved spending time in the dark room and started learning about photographers. Around that time my mother brought me to The Whitney Museum in New York where there was a Nan Goldin exhibit. I fell in love with the rawness and color of her images, she became one of my biggest inspirations. As I went though high school and college I took internships at different magazines. I ended up interning for a magazine called Missbehave in 2007. The magazine was everything I loved, fashion, pop culture, art, music. The girls running it ended up being like family, and that is where I started getting my work published. It was a great time!
Could you explain your artistic process ?
I had done a couple of Jennyfer shoots in New York, so when I got a call that Jennyfer wanted to bring me to Spain for their Summer campaign I was so excited! It was my first time in Mallorca. As soon as I got off the plane I knew it was going to be a great shoot! The locations were beautiful, and the people were all so nice and welcoming. We spent 3 long days working, but came together every evening for a crew family-style Spanish dinner of paella and vino. It was a great experience.
What for you is the smell of summer?
What do you like most about being at the beach?
I love tanning, I love swimming, I love everything about the beach!
What is your song of the summer?
Andhim by Hausch is always my summer song.
What are your plans this summer ?
I spend most of my time in New York. I’ll be working pretty hard until August, then I’ll go to Ibiza for a few weeks and finally relax and enjoy the beach.
Where do you find your inspiration?
I can spend hours looking through images online. I love to find old magazines for inspiration. But I can find inspiration anywhere, through friends, traveling, music, it's all out there.
What makes you proud to be a woman?
As a woman I feel like I embody this toughness and strength.
When you pair that with a woman’s beauty and the ability to be nurturing, it's incredibly intoxicating. And being a woman is fun!
If you’re a woman who enjoys playing with style,
creativity, and sex appeal, it can’t be beat!
What is a talent you wish you had?
I wish I could speak another language.
